Catherine’s entertainment career spans 16 years across film, television, concerts, live broadcasts and animation.

She began as a Loader with Lock and Load, one of the few women working in a male‑dominated touring industry, supporting acts including Slayer, The Beastie Boys, the Bee Gees and Neil Diamond. This led her into rigging, joining Panavision Lighting as a Lighting Rigger on major Hollywood productions, with The Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions among her first credits. Catherine later moved into management roles with Panavision, working on The Great Raid, Ghost Rider, King Kong and The Chronicles of Narnia across multiple international units.

Relocating to Europe, Catherine shifted into broadcast, coordinating large‑scale multi‑camera productions in reality TV and live events. Highlights include working with Done and Dusted on Rammstein’s 2005 Nîmes concert and Live 8 for Peter Gabriel in Cornwall. Multi‑camera broadcast quickly became her passion, combining technical precision with major‑event logistics.

After returning to Australia, Catherine continued in broadcast on programs including the early seasons of MasterChef. She broadened her skillset at Oscar‑winning animation studio Animal Logic on Sucker Punch, before moving into operational management at Technical Direction Company. At TDC she managed crews for some of Australia’s biggest multi‑camera productions — The Voice, Australia’s Got Talent, Vivid Festival, Kings of Leon, Leonard Cohen and more — cementing her love for filming live performance.

In 2018 Catherine stepped away from entertainment for personal reasons, retraining in Community Services and working in trauma‑informed practice with vulnerable clients. This experience shaped her approach to storytelling and informed her first self‑funded feature documentary, When the River Rose. Catherine opened Yellow Fox Productions in 2024 to enable production and despite a small team and budget, Catherine sold the film to ABC without a distributor. It premiered on 14 July 2026 to 700,000 broadcast viewers and 50,000 streams in the following fortnight, ranking 18th nationally out of approximately 960 programs aired that day — an exceptional result for an independent debut documentary.

Today Catherine continues to build Yellow Fox Productions, developing broadcast long-form projects focused on social issues while also expanding into digital content. She produces and manages multi‑camera shoots for her YouTube channel, CatBarkerTV, blending her broadcast expertise with accessible online storytelling.
